Pain & Grief
The photo above is part of an ongoing series I am developing of nude art photos which I call “Plausible Deniability” This one I call “Pain & Grief” , because of the powerful emotion represented by the imagery.
The photo below was taken in June of 2002 while travelling to Arizona. I spent the final weekend in Sedona, Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon. I was awestruck the whole day I spent there and vowed to return someday. The photo was taken on Eastman slide film (ie.movie stock) the kind that was developed by Seattle Filmworks (now defunct, I guess) and made into slides, negatives and scans. Thew scans are primitive by todays standards. I recently purchased a 20 MP Wolverine to update my collection of old slides and negatives. I will post these here from time to time. I still occasionally shoot film and work with digital scans.

Continuing with the theme from the Central Park Photowalk, I shot this view of the night skyline along 59th St. The shot is handheld and points to the amazing capabilities of the Pentax and it’s ISO range.

A large group of photographers braved the cold,snow and ice for a Photowalk sponsored by 500PX.com, including me. I brought along my K-5 and took more than a few pictures. Some of the results are shown below and to the left.

The wait is finally over! Today, Ricoh Imaging has announced the upcoming release of a Pentax Full-Frame DSLR. Read all about it on our homepage:
i have been using Pentax cameras since the 1980’s and am looking forward to the introduction. The Pentax camera has a long and fabled history. The original parent of Pentax, Asahi produced the first 35mm film SLR from Japan.
